Mark Machnic
Mark Machnic grew up in Highland, Indiana. After attending Highland High School, he attended Saint Joseph's College in Rensselaer, Indiana, on a baseball scholarship, where he graduated with a double major in accounting and information systems. He subsequently achieved his certified public accountant license in 1991.
With a keen sense for numbers and computers, he worked in the private sector of accounting for several years, where he gained experience in the accounting field. His passion for expanding his experience led him to the commercial insurance industry, where he was controller for several years. This varying background gave way to Mark opening his own, very successful accounting firm in 2008.
Carolyn Clark
Carolyn joined the firm in August of 2014, when we acquired the accounting firm of long-time Highland CPA, Bruce Aldrin. With 29 years of experience as a tax preparer, she is very detail-oriented and thorough. As a tax preparer, she is very detail-oriented and thorough. She also has an extensive background with small business clients and manages payrolls, bookkeeping, monthly tax filings.
Carolyn is known for her friendly and professional disposition, as well as the personalized attention she gives to each client she serves.
Craig Carpenter
Craig joined our firm in June of 2018 after a very long career as a residential and commercial lender for First Financial Bank. Craig received a bachelor’s degree in finance from St Joseph’s College in 1987. With over 32 years of finance background, Craig is a valuable addition to our firm. He works closely with several business clients, managing payrolls, bookkeeping and monthly tax filings and overall day to day support. As a tax preparer, Craig is meticulous and diligent.
Craig is known for his welcoming and responsive approach, as well as the individualized rapport he has with each client he serves.
Carol Machnic
As Office Manager, and wife of Mark, Carol has been with the firm since its inception, in 2008, after a long career as a registered dental hygienist. Working in the health care industry has contributed to her acute attention to detail, as well as a unique understanding of people. She works closely with the entire staff, providing support and assistance in the varying daily components of the accounting firm.
Carol is known for her genuine and happy personality.
Susan Landowski
Susan joined our team in 2020, when we acquired the neighboring accounting firm of her father, Robert Landowski & Associates. During his career, Susan worked closely with her father for 31 years, processing payrolls, bookkeeping and monthly tax filings, as well as individual tax preparation. Her extensive and eclectic educational background include a bachelor’s in microbiology from University of Illinois (Champaign Urbana), a master’s degree in business and finance from AIU, several grad classes at University of Illinois (Chicago) as well as a chef’s degree. Since Robert’s passing in October 2020, Susan has been an integral part of welcoming her dad’s clients into our office.
